Middle School (6-8) Literature and Language Arts Teacher

Northwest Christian School is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and passionate Middle School Language Arts and Literature Teacher for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The ideal candidates will have the ability to model and demonstrate a Biblical worldview.
Description
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Education. Experience with teaching middle school Language Arts and Literature concepts desired.
- Current educator’s license preferred (any US state)
- Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Certification a plus.
- Experience teaching in a classroom, preferably in a Christian School.
- A strong testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, active membership in a local biblically centered evangelical church and committed to modeling and teaching from a Biblical worldview.
Additional Selection Criteria for Prospective Language Arts and Literature Teachers
- A strong Literature, Language Arts, and teaching background and a commitment to working with middle school-aged students.
- Knowledge and expertise with Literature and Language Arts pedagogy and effective teaching practices.
- Articulates knowledge of best practices in teaching Language Arts and Literature.
- Proficient in integrating the Biblical worldview into instruction.
- Proficient in the use and integration of technology in the classroom, including SMART technology.
- Proficient in the use of differentiated instructional strategies within the classroom.
- Articulates understanding of the unique developmental needs of middle school students.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal skills.
- Knows and applies knowledge of current professional literature and best practices.
- Evidence of excellent verbal communication skills.
- Exhibits strong problem-solving skills.
- Shows skill and sensitivity in working with all members of the school community.
- Willing to contribute regularly to school community activities.
