Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and spiritually mature Christian educator to teach 8th Grade Bible in a part-time capacity. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to Jesus Christ and provide a clear testimony of salvation in Christ, demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Scripture, and possess a heart for middle school students. This teacher will serve not only as an instructor but as a role model and spiritual mentor. The goal is to create and maintain an engaging classroom where students develop a love for Scripture and grow in their Christian faith, equipping them to live out biblical truth in their daily lives. This role would be especially well-suited for a current pastor, youth minister, or someone with active ministry experience who desires to invest in the spiritual lives of adolescents.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Christian educator and spiritual leader within the classroom, modeling a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Teach one Bible class daily for 8th grade, four days per week.
- Create and maintain an engaging, Christ-centered classroom environment where
students develop a love for Scripture and grow in their Christian faith.
- Deliver biblically faithful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction.
- Develop lesson plans that integrate sound doctrine, promote biblical literacy, and
encourage spiritual formation.
- Integrate prayer, Scripture memory, and theological discussion into daily classroom
practice.
- Establish meaningful relationships with students and encourage them in their walk with the Lord.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with parents and guardians.
- Work in collaboration with the middle school teaching team to pursue cross-instructional opportunities that support student growth academically and spiritually.
- Collaborate with school leadership to support the mission and spiritual tone of the school.
Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony of personal faith.
- A deep commitment to the school’s evangelical Christian mission and doctrinal distinctives.
- A Christian educator who actively participates in a local evangelical Christian church.
- Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Education with a minor in Bible is acceptable. A degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Pastoral, youth ministry, or other vocational ministry experience is highly valued.
- Prior teaching experience, particularly in a middle school or Christian school setting,
preferred.
- A commitment to working with adolescents and an understanding of their
developmental and spiritual needs.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and relational skills.
- A calling to disciple students and integrate biblical truth into every lesson.
