PK-8 Art Teacher (Part-Time)

Position Overview
NCS is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Art Teacher to instruct students
in grades PK-8 in a Christ-centered learning environment. This position involves
teaching visual arts, demonstrating and modeling a biblical worldview, and fostering an
appreciation for God’s creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction: Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate art instruction for
students in grades PK-8, covering various mediums and techniques.
- Biblical Integration: Foster a love for the arts while integrating Christian faith
and values into instruction, helping students see art as a reflection of the Creator.
- Artistic Presence: Maintain and update student art displays throughout the
school to showcase their work and bless the school community.
- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement a diverse art curriculum that
introduces students to art history, theory, and various methods of creative
expression.
- Collaboration: Work with classroom teachers and administration to support the
school’s mission and spiritual tone through the visual arts.
- Studio Management: Maintain an orderly, respectful, and joyful classroom
environment that encourages students to use their creative gifts for God’s glory.
Qualifications
- Education: A degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (or equivalent
experience).
- Experience: Experience teaching elementary and middle school art is preferred.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency in various art mediums (drawing, painting, sculpture,
etc.) and a solid understanding of art from a Christian perspective.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage art supplies, plan lessons, and
maintain a functional studio space.
- Spiritual Leadership: Ability to inspire students to recognize and reflect God’s
beauty through their own creative work.
- Faith: Active Christian faith and membership in a local evangelical, Bible-
centered church that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
Position Details
- Schedule: Part-time (3 days per week to be determined).
- Setting: On-campus role in a Christian school setting.
- Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
