Position Title: Elementary School Teachers
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Northwest Christian School, Newton, NJ

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator that is qualified to teach in our lower
elementary grades to nurture academic excellence and spiritual growth. The ideal candidate will lead children in developing a Biblical Worldview. Through integrating this worldview into lessons, demonstrating and fostering a Christ-centered learning environment through creating engaging age-appropriate activities that inspire a love for learning, and modeling Christian behavior both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities
Classroom Instruction
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging lessons aligned with state standards and
Biblical principles.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Integrate technology and hands-on activities to support student engagement and
achievement.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Spiritual and Character Development
- Model Christ-like behavior in interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Lead daily devotions and prayer with students.
- Incorporate Scripture and Biblical values into classroom instruction and discussions.
- Encourage and support students in developing strong moral character and spiritual
growth.

Classroom Management
- Create a safe, nurturing, and respectful learning environment.
- Establish and maintain clear, consistent expectations for behavior.
- Use positive reinforcement and Christ-centered discipline strategies.

Collaboration and Communication
-Partner with parents to support student learning and growth, including regular
communication through conferences, emails, and updates.
-Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance
curriculum and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development and faculty meetings.

Additional Duties
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times as assigned.
- Assist with school events, chapel programs, and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Support the school’s mission and vision as outlined by the administration.

Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or a related field.
- State teaching certification (any U.S. state) for elementary education and/or ACSI
certification in elementary education is preferred or a willingness to obtain certification.

Experience
- Prior teaching experience with young learners preferred, especially in a Christian or
private school setting.

Spiritual Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to personal faith in Jesus Christ and active membership in a
local Bible centered evangelical church.
- Agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and mission.

Skills
- Strong instructional, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Creativity in lesson planning and the ability to foster an engaging classroom.

- Maintain a Christ-centered classroom that reflects the school’s mission and values.
- Embrace and promote a Biblical worldview in teaching and interactions.
- Exhibit a growth mindset by pursuing ongoing professional and spiritual development.
