PK-8 Music Teacher (Part-time)

Position Overview:
Northwest Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher to instruct students in grades PK-8 in a Christ-centered learning environment. This position involves teaching general music, demonstrating and modeling a biblical worldview, and organizing weekly chapel services. The teacher will also be responsible for planning and leading two school concerts each year—one at Christmas and one in the spring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in grades PK-8.
- Foster a love of music while integrating Christian faith and values into instruction.
- Plan and organize weekly chapel services, working with teachers and students to lead worship and special presentations.
- Direct two school-wide concerts per year (Christmas & Spring), including song selection, rehearsals, and performance coordination.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to enhance school-wide events and worship experiences.
- Maintain an orderly, respectful, and joyful classroom environment that encourages students to use their musical gifts for God’s glory.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience teaching elementary and middle school music preferred.
- Proficiency in vocal instruction, basic instrumental accompaniment (piano or guitar preferred), and music theory.
- Strong organizational skills for planning chapels, concerts, and special events.
- Ability to lead and inspire students to worship and praise God through music.
- Active Christian faith and membership in a local evangelical bible centered church that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
Position Details:
- Part-time (hours to be determined).
- On-campus role in a Christian school setting.
- Salary commensurate with experience and school budget.
